As part of the International Festival of Fair Trade Walks The FIG Tree Directors Graham Hulme and Bruce Crowther walked a new branch of the Fair Trade Way dressed as poet William Wordsworth and slave trade abolitionist Thomas Clarkson respectively. Joined by 16 other supporters the group walked the 16.5-mile leg from Clarkson’s historic home at Eusemere, Pooley Bridge to Wordsworth home at Dove Cottage, Grasmere. The walk took place on Easter Saturday 15th April 2017 on the same site and exactly 215 years after Wordsworth saw the “long belt” of daffodils that inspired his most famous work ” I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud”.
