There were special events and offers during Fairtrade Fortnight which ran from Monday 24th February this year.
Cornerstone on Dalton Square, Lancaster held events on both of the Saturdays. Bruce Crowther from Garstang – the world’s 1st Fair Trade Town – showed how Fig Tree make specialty vegan chocolate. The cocoa beans are produced by the cocoa farmers in New Koforidua, Ghana – Africa’s 1st Fair Trade Town. A week later there was a Fair Trade Fair in the same venue. Those who stopped to watch the 13-minute film ‘Guardians of the Rainforest’ were very impressed. It is worth remembering that you can watch it from your own lap top, phone or tablet at your leisure.
